Things won are done, joy's soul lies in the doing...

I have always been a man who finds language very important, and the spoken and written word touch me very deeply. I am often affected profoundly by the great speeches of history; from the Sermon on the Mount, to Churchill's 'Finest Hour', to Martin Luther King telling the world about his 'dream', I find myself stirred on a very intense and spiritual level by great oratory and great literature. Sometimes at home alone, or out walking, I will recite speeches and monologues which I know backwards, and yet still find myself overcome with emotion by the impact of the message. It is perhaps unsurprising therefore that I have always loved Shakespeare, and I am looking forward immensely to attending the Shakespeare Verse and Movement Workshop with Colin David Reese this coming weekend: November 18-19, 2017 in London.

I cannot pretend to be an Aficionado of The Bard. Having only basic knowledge of his works, I have seen most of my Shakespeare on screen, being first and foremost a Fan of the motion picture over theatre. And yet whenever I hear or read the text, something special happens, there is something about Shakespeare which moves my soul. So to work with Colin, a vastly experienced Shakespearian Actor who trained with Jacques Lecoq at the Ecole Internationale du Théâtre, and has trained me several times before at the Screen Acting Skills workshops, this is a fabulous opportunity to deepen my understanding of the most influential writer in the history of the English language; and to improve myself as an Actor of Shakespeare's plays by understanding not just the wonderful words, but how to deliver them.

If you are an Actor or Actress with an interest in performing Shakespeare, I cannot recommend this highly enough. You will however need to be quick. Colin is very sought after as a Tutor, and his workshops are remarkable value for money, (but don't tell him I said so!)...
