2018 was a year in which I marked my 60th Birthday, and celebrated the event with my Wife in the wonderful city of Amsterdam. It was a year in which we welcomed Piper, a beautiful Granddaughter, and our sixth Grandchild. A year in which I was cast in a film which we shot in Italy with a fantastic Director and Crew, and which is being lined up for Cannes. And a year which has inspired me to think about writing, producing and directing my own projects in the future.
It was also a year in which I allowed some opportunities to slip by, and at the age of sixty I am increasingly aware that I only have so much time to keep doing that! It was a year in which the curse of Macbeth struck us again, when Karen was taken ill on a trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon and we had to abort the play. One thing however, remains certain, whether I met with triumph or disaster, to quote the Rolling Stones: "It's All Over Now". None of it can be changed. It's behind me, and it doesn't matter. At my age now, I find myself more than ever excited and enthused about what lies in front of me. Tomorrow is just another day, and a resolution can be made on any day.
The picture above was taken by my Wife at a concert we attended recently by the fabulous André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra. André always emphasizes how music has the capacity to heal divisions and bring people together, and I have always sought to be a bridge builder, not a wall builder.
We are living in very divisive times, and if I have any kind of resolution to make for 2019, it would be that through my work as an Actor, and my life as a man, I am able to place my little brick in the bridge that brings people together.
Whatever your hopes and dreams are for 2019, I wish you every success and blessing...
Happy New Year!
